1. Center for Early Childhood
Ages Birth-6, Boston
Early childhood mental health community-based services, focused on prevention, promotion and intervention. Programs include child and family skills development, play therapy; early childhood mental health consultation and social-emotional competence training for early childhood teachers and trauma therapy training for child and family clinicians. Includes: The Preschool Outreach Program, The Early Childhood Training Institute and The Rice Center.
2. Adoption
Ages Birth-Adults
Placement services for domestic infants and older waiting children from the foster care system, inter-country adoptions, post-adoption services, and pregnancy counseling services.
3. Intensive Foster Care
Ages Birth-21
Specialized foster care services for children who have a history of multiple placements and require attention for emotional, behavioral, and educational and developmental issues.
4. Therapeutic After-School Program
Ages 10-18, Roslindale
Interdisciplinary program that provides a range of therapeutic, recreational, educational, and family support services to youth with mental illness, emotional disturbance, or behavioral difficulties.
5. The Children’s Community Support Collaborative
Ages 5-19, Boston
Home-based and residential continuum of care for severely psychiatrically disturbed children, adolescents and their families. The wraparound approach augments existing community supports to maximize family strengths.
6. Southeast Campus
Ages 10-18, Plymouth
A residential treatment program and special education school for youth who are challenged with emotional disturbances, behavior disorders and/or learning disabilities. This program has extensive experience in working with children who have a history of early trauma or symptoms of an emerging mental illness.
7. Longview Farm
Ages 5-18, Walpole
A residential treatment program and special education school for youth who are challenged with emotional disturbances, behavior disorders and/or learning disabilities. This program has extensive experience in working with children who have a history of early trauma or symptoms of an emerging mental illness.
8. Harrington House
Ages 8-15, Roxbury
Harrington House is a 16-bed co-ed group home serving children 8-15 years old, located in a quiet residential neighborhood in the Mission Hill section of Boston. The program is strength-based and family-centered. It offers mental health services (group, individual and family counseling), educational assistance, milieu therapy, case management and support services.
9. Roxbury House
Ages 10-18, Roxbury
Roxbury House is a 12-bed group care facility that provides a transition from a more structured residential facility to a family setting. The program is strength-based and family-centered. It offers mental health services (group, individual and family counseling), educational assistance, milieu therapy, case management, respite and support services.
10. Waltham House
Ages 14-18, Waltham
Waltham House is a residential group home designed to meet the specific out-of-home care needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth. Programming includes after-school educational, vocational and recreational activities, mentoring, community service projects, and individual, group and family therapy. Strong emphasis is placed on client life skills and competency development.
11. Park Street Area Lead Agency
As part of the Department of Children and Families (DCF) Family Networks initiative, The Home has been designated by DCF as the Area Lead Agency for the Park Street DCF Area Office. In partnership with DCF, the Area Lead manages a comprehensive network of DCF contracted services and non-DCF community supports for children, adolescents and their families, and provides case coordination through Family Team meetings.
Young Adult
1. Academic Support for College and Life (ASCL)
Ages 18-21, Bridgewater
ASCL, a strengths-based, outcome-oriented program, provides young adults ages 18 – 21 with clinical, social, academic, vocational and daily living supports while they attend Bridgewater State University. The program is designed to help these students successfully transition from the foster care system and other forms of state care to college, work and life.
2. Young Adult Resource Network (YARN)
Ages 17-22, Boston
A "wraparound" support program to assist DCF-involved youth in navigating the paths to living independently and safely within their community; focus is on securing housing and employment, education/vocation, health and wellness, and daily living skills.
3. Roxbury Village
Ages 18-22, Roxbury
An innovative program of housing and intensive services for young adults age 18-22 who are about to be discharged from foster care or have been discharged and are currently homeless. In addition to stable housing, Roxbury Village provides intensive services, support, and community connections to help the youth build the resources and skills they need to become self-sufficient, productive adults.
Family
1. Child and Family Counseling Center (CFCC)
Ages Birth-18, Boston
The Child and Family Counseling Center is a licensed outpatient mental health clinic with its primary site located in Roslindale. Multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural staff offers an array of assessment, treatment, consultation and prevention services to children, adolescents and their families. CFCC also provides services in over 40 Boston schools.
2. Safe At Home
Ages Birth-21, Boston
Stabilizing families in crisis, preventing abuse and neglect, leveraging community resources and support with the goal of preventing removal of children from their homes and/or helping with the transition back into their homes using a strengths-based family centered co-therapy model. Home-Based Family Support, a service of SAH, works with families through 1:1 parent mentorship relationships, supports the development of living skills, advocacy, resource delivery, and in home behavioral support.
3. Community Service Agencies (CSA), Park Street and Hyde Park
Ages Birth-21, Boston
A community-based wraparound program serving families in the catchment areas; facilitates access to and coordination of care for children and youth with serious emotional disturbance (SED) who need multiple mental health services or who are involved with multiple child-serving systems.
